Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Central bank Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded foreign capital inflows into the country’s domestic financial market amounting to 7.67 trillion rupiahs (some 526.7 million U.S dollars) during August 23-26, 2021.

The foreign capital inflows consisted of investments into state securities of 7.18 trillion rupiahs (some 497.6 million dollars) and shares of 0.49 trillion rupiahs (some 33.9 million dollars), BI’s spokesperson Erwin Haryono said in a statement here, Friday (Aug. 27).

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s foreign capital inflows from the beginning of the year until August 19, 2021 (year to date) reached 14.10 trillion rupiahs (about 977.2 million dollars).

Erwin said Bank Indonesia will continue to strengthen coordination with the government and relevant authorities to closely monitor the dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 and its impacts on the national economy over time.

BI will also strengthen the coordination on further policies that need to be taken to maintain the macroeconomic and financial system stability, as well as to support Indonesia's economic growth to remain sound and resilient.
