Indonesia records year-on-year inflation in December 2022 at 5.51 pct

Indonesia's year-on-year inflation was recorded at 5.51 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.59.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Statistics Indonesia (BPS) noted that the country’s year-on-year inflation in December 2022 was recorded at 5.51 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.59.Contributors to the year-on-year inflation are from the foods, drinks and tobacco group (5.83 percent), the housing, water, electricity and household fuels group (3.78 percent), and the transportation sector contributes the most (15.26 percent), BPS head Margo Yuwono told a press conference on Monday.Other contributors to the inflation are the recreation, sports and culture group by 3.04 percent, the education group by 2.77 percent, the group supplying foods and drinks by 4.49 percent, and the personal care and other services group by 5.91 percent.BPS also noted that the expenditure group experienced a decrease in index, namely the information, communication and financial services group by 0.36 percent.The inflation rate on a monthly basis (month to month/m-to-m) in December 2022 was recorded at 0.66 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in December 2022 was logged at 5.51 percent.The y-on-y inflation rate for the core component in December 2022 was booked at 3.36 percent, the m-to-m inflation and the y-to-d inflation were recorded at 0.22 percent and 3.36 percent respectively.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
