Jakarta (Indonesia Window) - A total of 77,069 tourist visas have been issued by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since the tourist visa policy was imposed on September 28, 2019.

The Saudi Gazette reported the policy as quoted here on Friday, and said 28,190 tourists arrived in Saudi Arabia by air, sea and land  between September 27 and October 30 after the government launched tourist visas for 49 countries.

According to the Saudi Foreign Ministry report as observed by the Saudi Gazette, the Chinese tourists received the largest number of online visas totaling 17,988, followed by British holiday makers  totaling 17,777.

The number of United States tourists comes third with 8,926 people, followed by Malaysia (7,158), Canada (5,413), France (3,097), Kazakhstan and Australia (1,685 each), Germany (1,674), and other citizenship 11,693.

The Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat) said that tourists can apply for visas before leaving for Saudi Arabia via an electronic platform (visa.visitsaudi.com) or arriving in the kingdom at all ports through self-service devices, smart phones or passport offices at the entry point.

According to Jawazat sources, this new visa policy allows tourists to enter the kingdom many times a year from the date of visa issuance, provided that their passports are valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Saudi territory.

Tourists can stay in the Kingdom for a maximum of 90 days a year.

Jawazat ensures that all departments at the entrance to the kingdom are equipped with modern technical devices for issuing tourist visas.
