Number of Muslims studying Al Quran grows, scholar calls it rise of Islam's golden age

Sheikh Hartanto Saryono, the founder of the Indonesian Tajweed House Foundation, said learning Al Quran includes how to read the Quran correctly according to its rules and memorizing it.
Bogor, W Java (Indonesia Window) – In his preaching journey, particularly on Quranic learning, in various regions in Indonesia and several countries around the world, Sheikh Hartanto Saryono, Lc., said that more and more Muslims are enthusiastic about studying and deepening their understanding of Al Quran."It could be said that this is the revival of the Muslim community with Al Quran, or what most Islamic religious teachers call 'al-'Ashr al-Zahabi,' or the 'golden age of the Muslim community,' close to Al Quran," said the founder of Rumah Tajwid Indonesia (Foundation of Indonesian Tajweed House), after delivering material at the Inaugural Al Ghozy Tahsin Lecture, held by the Al Ghozy Muslimah Center (AMC) at the Al Muttaqien Mosque in Bogor City, West Java province, on Thursday.According to Sheikh Hartanto Saryono, learning Al Quran includes how to read the Quran correctly according to its rules and memorizing the Noble Book."Reading and memorizing the Quran must also be balanced with application in daily life," he said, adding that ongoing efforts are needed to encourage Muslims to continue learning to read and understand the Quran.Sheikh Hartanto emphasized the many benefits and advantages of studying the Quran. "Besides spiritual benefits, the Quran can also serve as motivation and healing when feeling hopeless," he said.
