That number represents 70 percent of 1,468,764 health workers who are targeted to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the number of health workers who have received the second doses of vaccine is 345,605 people.

So far, around 1.3 million Indonesian health workers have visited vaccination centers. However, as some of them have comorbidities and are pregnant, only 1 million health workers are eligible for vaccination.

After vaccination for the health workers, the national vaccination program is to continue targeting public officials.

\"Public officials are those whose daily works are meeting people,\" said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin.

In addition, vaccination for the elderly group aged 60 years and over is also accelerated, which has started earlier this week.

The vaccination program against the coronavirus in the country targets 181.5 million people aged over 18 years.

\"So it takes 363 million doses, because each person needs two doses, in addition to 15 percent reserves. Therefore, the total need is 426 million doses of vaccine,\" the minister pointed out.
