The three wells are PMN-A in Prabumenang village, Muara Enim district, KRG-PB well in Rambang Senuling village, Prabumulih city, and LBK-INF3 well in Lembak village, Muara Enim district.

\"We will conduct massive drilling to increase production and meet the targets set by the government,\" said Pertamina’s General Manager for Zone IV Akhmad Miftah in a statement here, Thursday.

The PMN-A well drilling is targeted to be completed within 35 days with a depth of 1,800 meters. This well is estimated to have oil potential of 60 barrels per day (BOPD) and gas of 2 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd).

Meanwhile, the KRG-PB well will be drilled for 35 days with a depth of 1,600 meters, and is predicted to increase oil production by 200 BOPD.

Meanwhile, the LBK-INF3 well will be drilled for 35 days to a depth of 1,750 meters, with a potential oil production of 300 BOPD.

\"In 2020, we drilled 16 development wells, 28 reworks, and 255 well maintenance works. This year's target is 37 development wells, a significant increase compared to last year,\" Akhmad noted.

The Sumatra IV regional upstream sub holding manages oil and gas production operations in Indonesia’s Southern Sumatra region.

The oil and gas production in that region are derived from seven self-operated fields, namely Prabumulih, Limau, Pendopo, Adera, Ramba, Ogan Komering, and Raja Tempirai.

In addition, the production also comes from two non-operator work areas, namely the Suban corridor and unitization, as well as nine joint operations and one technical assistant contract.

Head of Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas for Southern Sumatra region, Anggono Mahendrawan, said the office supported Pertamina's drilling activities in an effort to maintain the level of oil and gas production in southern Sumatra.

\"This effort is also part of the efforts of the task force and Cooperation Contract Contractors in realizing the 1 million BOPD and 12 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day (BSCFD) by 2030,\" said Anggono.

He added that the task force has targeted to drill 616 development wells nationally by 2021, a significant increase compared to last year's realization of 252 wells.

\"Sumatra is one of the backbones of national oil and gas production in 2021. Five provinces in southern Sumatra contribute about 10 percent of the national oil production and about 30 percent of the national gas production targets,\" said Anggono.
