A number of car manufacturers have issued their electric versions, such as Porsche, Ford and Renault.

Of the many electric car brands in the world, the UK-based website Autoexpress mostly recommends Tesla Model 3 for those who want to buy a vehicle of this type in 2021.

Autoexpress also places Tesla model S at the fifth in the list.

Elon Musk can own Tesla and claims his electric car as the most sophisticated in the world. But what would Tesla be without the cutting-edge parts manufactured by software and hardware experts in Taiwan's electronics and high-tech industries.

According to Taiwanese media statistics, 75 percent of Tesla’s electric auto parts suppliers are Taiwanese companies, one of which is Fukuta Taiwan which produces Tesla's dynamo.

Suppliers

In 2005, or two years after its founding, Tesla management visited Taiwan to find electric car driving motors manufacturers.

Initially Fukuta had no experience in making car dynamos, but due to Tesla's request, the Taiwanese company managed to convert their dynamo from 400 kilograms to only 60 kilograms.

As a result, Fukuta has been a senior partner of Tesla's cooperation for more than ten years.

Another Taiwanese company that plays a role in Tesla's production is Chang Chun Petrochemicals, which produces copper foil for negative electrodes of lithium batteries, and therefore becomes a vital component of Tesla’s car battery.

In the world, only Taiwan’s Chang Chun Petrochemicals and a few companies in Japan can produce such special copper foils that are only 5 microns thick or thinner than a piece of hair.

Not only do they have solid foundations in Information Technology, machinery, and chemical engineering, which make Tesla highly dependent on Taiwanese companies, but they are also quick to develop new products at any time according to the needs of this eco-car manufacturer.

In addition, Taiwanese industries are full of flexibility and innovation when it comes to developing new parts or improving product performance specifications.

With those characteristics, not only do Taiwanese companies dominate Tesla’s auto parts supply chain, but also the world's major electric car manufacturer.

The production of automotive semiconductor chips, which are the brains of electric vehicles, has to depend on Taiwan.

Recently, top officials from the United States, Germany and Japan have asked Taiwan for help to upgrade their automotive chips to avoid the dilemma of auto production suspension in these countries.
