The lecturer from Islamic University of Madinah, Prof. Al Ahmady, explained that an act of worship would be acceptable by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala if it fulfills two conditions, namely that it is done sincerely and in accordance with the example set by Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam (peace be upon him).

Bogor, West Java (Indonesia Window) – The lecturer from the Sharia Department at the Sharia Faculty of Islamic University of Madinah, Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Ahmady, recently gave advices to the students of the Al Wafi Islamic boarding school, regarding Al Qur’an and filial piety to their parents.

The advices from the Saudi cleric were delivered at a guest lecture held at the Nida'ul Islam Mosque, Campus B of Al Wafi in Depok City, West Java province, Indonesia, on Saturday (Sept. 30), according to Al Wafi’s written statement received in Bogor district, West Java province, on Monday.

At the event hosted by the Director for Male Students of the Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School, Ustadz Ryan Hidayat, Lc., Prof. Al Ahmady emphasized the importance of studying Al Qur’an and Sunnah (the traditions and practices of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam (peace be upon him), as well as the dangers of someone who does not use their time well.

Furthermore, the Islamic University of Madinah cleric explained that an act of worship would be acceptable by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, if it fulfills two conditions, namely that it is done sincerely and in accordance with the example set by the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.

Thus, worship carried out without the basis of Al Qur'an and Sunnah is rejected and becomes futile, the lecturer said.

Meanwhile, regarding attitudes towards parents, Prof. Ahmady hoped that the students of Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School would not miss their devotion to their fathers and mothers.

The students are also expected to use their time, both at school and at home, to study Al Qur’an and As Sunnah, in order to become the basis for filial piety to their parents so that it is accepted as an act of worship.

The presence of the professor from the Islamic University of Madinah is part of a guest lecture program from world educational figures, to support educational and coaching activities for Al Wafi students in developing Al Qur'an, Arabic and Islamic sciences.
