
Sumatra flood death toll rises to 1030, 206 missing as of Dec 16 morning

The number of flood victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra as of December 16, 2025 morning, has risen to 1030 deaths, 206 missing, and 7,000 injured.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The National Disaster Management Agency (locally known as BNPB) reported that the number of flood victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra as of December 16, 2025 morning, has risen to 1030 deaths, 206 missing, and 7,000 injured.In Aceh, the number of flood victims is 431 deaths, 32 missing, and 4,300 injured. In North Sumatra, 355 deaths, 84 missing, and 2.300 injured. In West Sumatra, 244 deaths, 90 missing, and 382 injured.BNPB also reported that 1,600 public facilities were damaged. The disaster likewise affected 219 health facilities, 967 educational facilities, 434 houses of worship, 290 buildings/offices, and 145 bridges.In addition, BNPB reported that 186,488 houses were damaged.
