Indonesian Embassy in Brunei gives integrated services for Indonesians in Kuala Belait

The Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan held an integrated service event for Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers in Kuala Belait, Brunei Darussalam, on June 10-11, 2023, to help those who need services in the consular, immigration and employment fields. Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam provides integrated services for Indonesian citizens /Indonesian migrant workers in Kuala Belait to help those who need services in the consular, immigration and employment fields.More than 100 Indonesian citizens/ Indonesian migrant workers in the city of Kuala Belait attended the 'Consular, Immigration and Employment Services' event on June 10-11, 2023, at the V-Plaza Hotel Kuala Belait, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a written statement as quoted by Indonesia Window on Monday."This kind of integrated services is a pick-up effort that we are doing to reach a wider range of Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers," Irwan Iding, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim, said at the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Sseri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, who was present to monitor the services.In addition to integrated services, the Indonesian Embassy also provides counseling and outreach in the consular, legal and employment affairs to Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers in Kuala Belait.The event was opened by Irwan Iding and continued with discussions with speakers who were the Coordinator of Protocol and Consular Functions, the Labor Attache of the Indonesian Embassy, representatives of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (a state bank) in Brunei and lawyers from Yusof Halim & Partner, a law firm in the country, which is the partner of the Indonesian Embassy in resolving cases involving Indonesian migrant workers."This outreach is very important, especially for Indonesian migrant workers to understand the procedures and laws that apply in Brunei. The goal is that there are no more PMI friends who are affected by legal problems in Brunei," Irwan stated.Integrated service activities outside the city are held regularly by the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.This effort is very beneficial for Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers who do not have the time flexibility to arrange documents at the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan.This effort to pick up the ball is very beneficial for Indonesian citizens / PMI who do not have the time flexibility to arrange documents at the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan."We who are far from Bandar (Seri Begawan) are greatly helped by this kind of services. The Indonesian Embassy should do it once every three months," Rita, an Indonesian migrant worker from Kuala Belait, said.The city of Kuala Belait is located about 115 km west of Bandar Seri Begawan. There are 4,216 Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers living and working in Kuala Belait and its surroundings as laborers, domestic workers, restaurant servers, mechanics, sailors and professional workers in the oil and gas sector.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
