Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Saudi Arabia has discovered two new oil and gas fields in the northern parts of the country, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Saudi Minister of Energy AbdulAziz Bin Salman announced on Sunday that the Saudi Aramco discovered two new oil and gas fields, namely, Hadbat Al-Hajrah gas field in Al-Jouf region, as well as Abraq Al-Talul oil and gas field in the Northern Border region.

Prince AbdulAziz said that rich condensate gas flowed from Al-Sarra reservoir in the Hadbat Al-Hajrah field, east of Sakaka, at a rate of 16 million standard cubic feet per day, along with about 1,944 barrels of condensate.

The minister noted that the unconventional excellent light Arabian oil flowed from the Sharurah reservoir in the Abraq Al-Talul field in the southeast of the city of Arar, at a rate of 3,189 barrels per day, and it was accompanied by about 1.1 million cubic feet of gas per day.

He said gas flowed from the Qawara reservoir in the same field at a rate of 2.4 million standard cubic feet per day, accompanied by 49 barrels per day of condensate.

“Saudi Aramco will continue to work on assessing the quantities of oil, gas and condensate in the two fields, in addition to digging more wells to determine the area and size of the two fields,” the minister said.
